Cardiology Department No. 2 has been deployed for 30 beds since May 2014 in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova dated March 11, 2014 No. 240 "On the distribution of round-the-clock stay profiles in medical organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova in 2014", has actually been functioning since August 2014.

Cardiology Department No. 2 is located on the 4th floor of a six-storey therapeutic building. It is part of RSC No. 2. The department is deployed for 30 beds. Provides specialized cardiological medical care.

Staff of the department:

• Doctors – 4 people, 1 doctor has the highest category, 2 doctors - the first category
• Nurses – 6 people.
• Junior staff – 5 people.

The department's activities are regulated by ORDER No. 918n of November 15, 2012 ON APPROVAL OF THE PROCEDURE FOR PROVIDING MEDICAL CARE TO PATIENTS WITH CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES.

The department provides medical care in planned, emergency and emergency forms.

The Department performs the following functions:

1)provision of specialized medical care to patients:

a) a chronic form of ischemic heart disease in the case of aggravation of its course or requiring preparation for endovascular methods of diagnosis and treatment, as well as requiring diagnostic services that can only be performed in inpatient conditions (CAH as planned)

b) acute coronary syndrome (with and without ST segment elevation, acute myocardial infarction and unstable angina);

c) symptomatic arterial hypertension, requiring clarification of the diagnosis in stationary conditions;

d) arterial hypertension (resistant to ongoing therapy);

e) acute and chronic myocarditis in the period of exacerbation;

f) cardiomyopathy requiring the performance of medical and diagnostic procedures in a hospital setting;

g) hypertensive crisis, including complicated by acute heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias and conduction, encephalopathy, ongoing nosebleed;

h) pulmonary hypertension during decompensation or requiring diagnostic procedures in stationary conditions;

i) a violation of the heart rhythm and conduction, requiring diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in stationary conditions;

k) chronic heart failure in the decompensation stage;

l) pericarditis;

m) infectious endocarditis, including the continuation of treatment after the provision of high-tech medical care;

h) pulmonary embolism;

o) violation of the rhythm and conduction of the heart, accompanied by unstable hemodynamics and (or) progression of coronary and (or) cardiac and (or) cerebral vascular insufficiency.

The main directions in the provision of medical care:

• Provision of diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care to patients with cardiological diseases;
• Conducting laboratory diagnostics and differential diagnostics with other diseases;
• Implementation of the hospital stage of rehabilitation of cardiac patients, including patients who have undergone surgical interventions;
• Examination of temporary disability, selection of patients with cardiological diseases for the provision of high-tech medical care;
• Development and implementation of measures to improve and introduce new methods of diagnosis, treatment, medical examination and prevention.

The department participates in the provision of VMP included in the basic program of compulsory medical insurance under the section cardiovascular surgery:

Coronary myocardial revascularization with angioplasty in combination with stenting in ischemic heart disease

In the department, the following types of studies are assigned and conducted on the basis of diagnostic departments of the State Medical Institution of the RM "MRCCB":

• clinical blood test;
• immunological studies;
• biochemical research;
• x-ray examinations of the chest, lumbar spine, computer tomography;
• endoscopic examinations;
• VEM, EchoCG, ULTRASOUND ;
• Daily monitoring of ECG, blood pressure.

Hospitalization to the department is carried out in an emergency.
